Definition: Tendency to escape from daily reality by indulging in daydreaming or fantasy
-The FreeDictionary-
The word was first introduced to me by Ikram during our first few phone conversations. I guess I do tend to daydream a bit too much. And one of the things that help transport me to la-la land would be through a magazine. I love magazines. Although, I'm not much of a Girlfriend, NW or Cosmopolitan type of reader (except I do read them from time to time when a coffeeshop starts updating their magazine collection). Instead, I tend to sway more to magazines like Vogue, Time, teenVogue, Vanity Fair and the NewYorker (and lately, UK's Tatler). I swear I'm not trying to be all Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City here (since I think it is time we move on from the TV series as it ended ages go) but seriously, I put aside $8.95 a month at the very least just so I could buy teenVogue every month. And yes, there were a couple of times where I spent my last $20 (which was suppose to last for a whole week) on magazines.
But I'm addicted to the thrill of getting a hold on a crisp, new magazine. Especially when the book shop has the magazine wrapped in plastic. Yet, it does get frustrating at the fact that Adelaide, out of all the places has to be the one that can't stock overseas magazine on time! I mean teenVogue is two month's late here. However, I do get a sneak preview every month since my friend subscribes (you might be wondering why I didn't and let me tell you I do plan to do it except it takes too much effort to subscribe). Well I should stop before I blab more about my love for magazines. To tell you the truth I dont mind blabbing on. Except South Park is now showing and my concentration has wavered. Ooh, and before I go off, I recommend all of you to start watching Heroes(TV). Addictive and oh so good. Am waiting anxiously for the next episode to finish downloading from Bangchik's computer. Okay people, I'm off. Uhmm..Oh. But before I end. I would say my blog entries are like perfumes from Sisley's. Like them, my entries are not produced every other day but only when I'm struck with a writer's inspiration. Which is most of the time quite unlikely. Haha. Seeeeeee!I won't know this if I hadn't read Tatler! Now I'm really off. Toodles.

Give peace a chance
Oi. Give me a break la. Haha. I guess I am not destined to commit myself to write a blog everyday. Seriously, when I am very "semangat-ed" somehow I can't LOG IN to my blog account!!How weird is that. Heh. Tata.

Ehem-ehem
Again,procrastination got the best of me these past few months.I read Erin's post today and was wondering how she could get herself addicted to blogging.Because I find "blogging", needing a lot of effort,time and THINKING.Anyway!The first thing I did when I logged into my Blogger was to get to template to change Mars's blog address and to delete the friggin' C-Box.So sorry Mars!Heh.I'm glad the C-Box is gone.Well I hope it is.The last time I viewed my blog it was still there.And so was Mars's wrong blog address.My hypothesis is the computer's whacked.It'll probably change after I restart the computer.
I bumped into two quotes by Howard Thurman today which I thought was worthy to be posted in this blog.One was:
"Dont ask what the world needs.Ask what makes you come alive,and go do it.Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
And the second one:
To find the lost;
To heal the broken;
To feed the hungry;
To release the prisoner;
To rebuild the nations;
To bring peace among enemies;
To make music in the heart.
Okay,the second one is actually an extract from a Christmas poem and not a quote.However,I think these words are the perfect motivation to fight our current situation.I've been updating myself with the war between Lebanon and Israel.The more I read, the harder it is for me to pick a side.There is no sense in arguing "Israel was there first" or "the Arab was there first", firstly because there is no practical application; neither the Israelis nor the Arabs are going to pack up and leave through the force of any argument,rational or otherwise.So move on.I agree with Michael Adams when he said "saying that 'all Israelis as a people are land-grabbers who are responsible for the dead Palestinians' or 'all Palestinians as a people are responsible for anti-Semitism and the murder of Israeli civilians' is a degrading,pointless generalisation which better serves political grandstanding rather than a real solution". Don't blame one government for the killings without blaming the other,because both the governments have similar motivation,actually commited war crimes and participated in perpetuating hatred.The only way this conflict is going to end without igniting a WWIII is if the people involved can resist the culture imprint of thousand years of hatred and warfare and accept that the world is not black and white.That goes for us too.Easier said than done.
Warmly,
Tania

Raging Hatred Towards Introduction to Australian Law
Introduction to Australian Law.A passage from it's textbook, Laying Down the Law, is like an effective sleeping pill.It's ridiculous I tell you. It doesn't even answer my question on how to interpret statutes and I waste my time flicking throught the dictionary because of its habit of using BIG words.Okay,so maybe as a lawyer I should master BIG words.But it's not helping for my exams tomorrow!Having a boring lecturer doesnt help either.Sigh.Back to figuring out what the book is trying to explain.Toodles.

Should I still use"Exam's Coming" as a reason?
I was reading through everyone's blog today.Yes, first paper is tomorrow andI still have time to do that. Worse of all, the first paper is on a Saturday.Let me repeat, SATURDAY. Anyway, I was thinking, maybe I shouldn't use "Exam's Coming" as an alasan when I know I am just too lazy to create a post (and at this very moment I am procrastinating to study.Lol). And sorry Mars for still having your name linked to a different blogsite.Editing the "thing" takes too much time and concentration.But I promise you I'll do it the moment my last paper is over.Heh.Other than that,I just wanted to tell you this site has not yet been abandoned like last year.It is just taking a break.Because the author has nothing interesting going on in her life at the mo.

Eerie coincidence?
It's 1.36 p.m. and I still haven't showered. I should actually be cleaning the house since Pak Chak's arriving tomorrow but I'm really taking my time.I signed up to become a volunteer for Oxfam (Cheh..I felt obliged to get myself involved instead of just sitting down at home and do nothing), and read some of my friends blogs (seriously,I'm going to blame you guys for my sloth like attitude.I am very distracted because I've been reading too much of everyone's blogs.And magazines too.). Anyway, I enjoyed reading Soraya's "weird habits" post. And then I clicked on Erin's. Eh?She too has a post very similar to Opu's. Then, eh?Yameen too?Eh, Mars too?Eh, eh, eh Roy too?Nik?Eh, eh, eh. Eh, eh, eh.Everyone was mentioning the word "tagged".Hurrmm..I wonder what happens when the person who was tagged stops the chain?!Haha.Nothing kot.Because he/she will be just a minor.SUPPORT THE MINORS! (Under the influence of Vanity Fair and OnDit). Haha.Okay.Loving soup.Loving me.Conclusion, rajinlah volunteer everyone.I'm tagging everyone who's reading this as sizzle ma nizzle HOT.Now go pass it around.

Joke of The Day:Three Short Emails To Oblivion
An email which recently took the law community by (alternately) storms of laughter and cringing involves correspondence between a young law graduate and a senior lawyer in the US. For obvious reasons, names have been changed here, but it should be noted that the actual email circulated contains their real names. Apparently the senior lawyer is the sharing type.
From: [Officious Young Lawyer with everything to lose]
Dear [Would-be Boss], At this time, I am writting to inform you that I will not be accepting your offer. After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that the pay you are offering would neither fulfill me nor support the lifestyle I am living in light of the work I would be doing for you. I have decided instead to work for myself, and reap 100% of the benefits that I sew [sic]. Thank you for the interviews. [Smug Young Lawyer], Esq.(Yes,Esq.)
From: [Bewildered Senior Lawyer]
To: [Obnoxious Young Lawyer well on the road to losing everything]
Subject: RE: Thank You[Ungrateful Young Lawyer]-
Given that you had two interviews, were offered and accepted the job(indeed, you had a definite start date, I am surprised that you chose an email and a 9.30 PM voicemail message to convey this information to me. It smacks the immaturity and is quite unprofessional. Indeed, I did rely upon your acceptance by ordering stationary and business cards with your name, reformatting a computer and setting up both internal and external emails for you here at the office. While I do not quarrel with your reasoning, I a extremely disappointed in the way this played out. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
[Riled Senior Lawyer]
From: [Officious Young Lawyer]
To: [Expert in Contract Law]
Subject: RE:Thank You
A real lawyer would have put the contract into writting and not exercised any such reliance until her did so. Again, thank you.
From: [Scandaised Senior Lawyer]
To: [Insensibly Rude Young Lawyer]
Subject: RE:Thank You
Thank you for the refresher course on contracts. This is not a bar exam question. You need to realize that this is a very small legal community,especially the criminal defense bar. Do you really want to start pissing off more experienced lawyers at this early stage of your career?
From: [Young Lawyer about to destroy her career with three small words]
To: [Future purveyor of the destruction of her career]
Subject: RE:Thank You
bla bla bla
[END CAREER]
